I thank God for bringing us through this month. I also am thankful for your continual care for our family. May God remember your service. On the 1st and 2nd of this month, Pastor _____ came to our place to do some training for me, the brothers of our church, and leaders of some other house churches in the area. He taught on holy living and pure doctrine. The teaching this time reminded me of what a minister’s life should look like and also how to maintain personal growth. In the evening of the 2nd he shared with the brothers and sisters of our church on true relationships. We saw how important relationships are for each other.

This month I finished reading “The Exemplary Husband” (Stuart Scott). It was a great help to me. It brought me to see my own mistakes in our marriage. Before in loving my wife I would love her from my perspective and not fully from the perspective of the Bible. My wife was helping some sisters who just got pregnant and so was very busy and unable to finish reading her book. She will continue reading it. As for our son’s education, we have seen God moving in his heart to see his own sin. He is always asking us questions about the gospel and talking about different things from Bible stories. I am very thankful for this. My child is beginning to have strong interest in the gospel and the Bible.

My co-worker went to study this month for a whole month. So I preached three Sundays. I am still working through The Gospel of Mark. As I was preparing to speak on Jesus foretelling His going to Jerusalem three times, my heart was once again humbled. I saw this Messiah continue to press on when He knew what He would suffer for our salvation. In spite of this I often want to back down when I am faced with difficulties in ministry. This passage encouraged me to persevere and to follow Jesus’ example.

On Thursday evenings I spoke four times. I am still teaching on God’s Kingdom. In seeing how Israel’s rebellion to God led to the shattering of their nation, I thought about how rebellion in local churches will also lead to God fragmenting the church. It reminded me that I must be faithful to the Scriptures and be diligent in teaching the congregation. Two couples requested to join the church this month. They already gave their testimonies publicly in church. We have 18 people now attending Lord’s Day meetings. There also are a few seekers who continue to keep in contact with us and learn about the gospel. This has made us see God’s blessing on our church in bringing more people to us.

Our church took an offering for the earthquake in Nepal. Though we don’t have much to give, we did this to remind the brethren not to be coldhearted to suffering. We live in a suffering world and God teaches us through suffering to fear Him. We also need to learn to mourn with those who mourn. I was very moved as I saw the generosity of the brothers and sisters. They are growing and are willing to pay attention to people in need. We gave our collection to Pastor _____ to bring directly to Nepal.
