Nicu Vulpe is the pastor of Bethany Church in Pucioasa, Romania. His proven character as a seasoned minister of the gospel has afforded him much favor with the people in the community. Among his ministries as a shepherd of the Bethany Church faith family, he leads his people in evangelism.
In his recent report, Brother Vulpe relates how evangelism motivates evangelism:
After the evangelistic events we had around Easter, we’ve made some new contacts. There are several families who are honestly interested in the Gospel and this makes us see the work of grace in their lives. After being cautious for a while, a man and his wife with their three children opened their home to us. They live in an area where our church has been working more lately. We met several times and the man would always keep our discussion very short. But one day, as we were going from gate to gate in his neighborhood, he asked me to come inside as he wanted to talk to me. During our conversation, I found out that he had spent 19 years in prison. He’s been free for 12 years. The man seems socially rehabilitated now, though he still is stigmatized. He is a hardworking man and loves his family. Recently, he has been struggling with information he found out while in prison. Interestingly, he told me that he had read the New Testament and P. Popovici’s “There is an Afterlife” (a great Gospel tract). When he found out I wasn’t “selling” anything, but I cared about people’s salvation, he opened his heart and I was able to share more with him from the Gospel. I pray that his interest would lead him to Christ, who is able to really wipe away his criminal record! The good discussions that I have had with this man and his family encourage me to seek the lost even more!
