Church Service

We recently received this update from Bheki Bembe, who is the pastor of Sovereign Grace Bible Church near Johannesburg, South Africa.

“Greetings brothers and sisters in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I pray that this letter finds you well. As the year 2022 ends, we reflect on how far the Lord has brought us in such a short period of time. For a small church like ours, such progress can only be attributed to the Lord. As Romans 8:31 reminds us, “if God is for us, who can be against us?”

We have had much rain the past few months, and for us to be able to gather without having to check the weather forecast or to be concerned it may rain during a sermon, it is a blessing indeed. Brethren, we do not take for granted any Sunday service, we give thanks to God for blessed fellowship.

It is with great pleasure to announce that our building is complete and looking good. It has been long awaited, and we’ve had a few ups and downs along the way, but we thank God that we finally have a secure place of worship.

Sovereign Grace Bible Church is committed to the great commission and as such, we continue to be witnesses to the message of salvation. This past month, we distributed tracts and engaged in evangelistic efforts around the area where the church is located, and we went to a nearby shopping center to do the same. Some people showed interest to visit the church and thus we pray that the Lord would draw His sheep.

It is delightful to see the church meet to take the word of God to the lost. It is also encouraging to see the commitment of our members giving their time and material goods for the glory of God and for the benefit of the church. The church often makes time to come clean up the church on weekends and even arrive early Sunday mornings to prepare for worship among other things. We have also received a donation of furniture from our members for the cry room and a study desk which will be very helpful to the church. We are grateful to the Lord for putting such commitment in the hearts of our members.
