The work of the ministry is hard, arduous, and involves many difficulties, at least in this suburb of Satan. However, I believe that the gospel is the power of God. We continue sowing the seed, but He will do the work and will make it grow. Our part is to continue working with patience, waiting with patience, and acting with patience.

There are many experiences I could share with you, but I want to share this one

Some time ago we shared the gospel with a lady named Carmen. At first she appeared to be very sympathetic to the gospel. Some of the ladies of our church who were her neighbors invited her to our church and she visited us. Then one day, she was arrested and put in jail for involvement with drugs. We had not known she was involved in this, but we continued to visit her in jail to help her as we were able since she had young children. It appeared to us that she was repentant.

After several years she got out of prison, but she never visited us and she returned to her old lifestyle. After awhile, when her son had become a teenager, he was killed near their home. It was very sad and when we visited her, I had the opportunity to carefully explain to her the gospel and repentance. However, there was no repentance in her life.

A year ago, she was diagnosed with cancer. As a result of this, she began to attend a church that taught the false “Health, Wealth, and Prosperity Gospel.” When she saw that her health did not improve, she stopped attending. Now the cancer is very advanced and her situation has become critical. She is currently in Lima and, through a sister from our church, she has requested that we pray for her. We are hoping that she will return here soon and that we will be able to visit her in order to preach the gospel to her one more time. We are praying that she will not continue hardening her heart.
