Beloved Brothers,
A few months ago, I asked you to pray for the health of a child named Orlando. He had Leukemia and was receiving treatment and chemotherapy at a hospital in Lima. We praise and glorify our God for all that he does: this child and his mother came to our church this week. They were very grateful to our God because the doctor has told them that the sickness has disappeared and that Orlando no longer has Leukemia. In order to confirm this they had to do several new medical exams. All of the exams came back negative. Now the family will just go to Lima for preventative checkups. For now the child is back at home.
As a church we feel a great deal of joy because of what has happened. It also gives us great joy to see our brother Asuncion and sister Ester, the grandparents of this child, share this happiness. When we saw how God had answered our prayers, that night at church we had a prayer time in which we thanked God for this healing. However, we also pleaded with the Lord for the most important thing; for the salvation of this family. This is the greater work and the miracle of a new life in Christ. That night we also talked with the family about their need for salvation. Personally, I have shared the gospel with them and I pray that the Holy Spirit will bring about conviction in their lives. This week the mother (Irma) and Orlando have been attending our church. Please pray that we would see this family come to and grow in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ.
