Thanks be to God; we welcomed five new believers into the family of Christ in October! We have praised God and thanked Him for the opportunities we have had to go out and share the Gospel. Mrs. Koong (Grandma Koong – the “Evangelist Grandma”) went out in her boat to other floating villages to share the good news as she usually does. She encountered a lot of persecution, which has deeply discouraged her. Please remember her in your prayers.

In my spirit, I feel the call from God to go out and share the Gospel to all places. I think that two men, Kret and Broouhng, my younger brothers, can be elders or pastors to the people on the lake in Moat Klah to leave Moat Klah and start a church on the land.

We needed rain, and God brought rain, which was good for us. However, some other areas in Cambodia suffered from flooding. A lot of people do not have enough food to eat, and others have become sick. Due to Covid-19, so many people are without jobs, and the flooding makes things worse in many areas. People are professing to be Christians who have started to go after money rather than integrity and faithfulness. It’s sad information, but it is something that we need to pray for continually.

This Scripture has impacted my thoughts and prayers lately:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness'” (Matt. 7:21-23).

These verses made me think a lot about God’s warning to walk in the Lord, in the truth. I’m always thinking of when the Lord comes back. I want to see Christians live a life now that pleases God. Now, while on the earth, we love one another, and we want to see each other again in heaven. We especially want to see the Lord, and for this reason, I’m always concerned for believers, both those in my churches and my immediate family. Please pray for me and our churches here, my brothers and sisters, that we will be careful to walk in the Lord and in truth in every area of our lives.

May the love of God help us to love one another and care for one another. May our Lord be with us.

Sincerely, Kien
