HeartCry provided the funds for a three-day pastor’s conference in Phnom Penh, Cambodia (June 2-4). More than thirty pastors attended the conference, including seven men HeartCry supports. Pastor Wei En Yi from Singapore was invited to teach and he cogently, systematically, and biblically presented the theme, “The Order of Salvation.” The topics Pastor Wei addressed included: Effectual Calling, Regeneration, Repentance, Faith, Justification, Sanctification, and Perseverance of the Saints. Too, interspersed between the messages were edifying and thought-provoking Q & A sessions.

After the conference ended, a Khmer pastor and I boarded a flight from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. While waiting to board the plane, the Khmer pastor initiated a conversation with a government worker sitting next to us. The pastor asked several strategic questions to direct the conversation to Jesus Christ. The woman working with the Khmer government eventually asked, “What is the difference between Jesus and Buddha?” In response to the question that has eternal significance, the Khmer pastor succinctly proclaimed the Person and work of Jesus Christ!

Please join me in prayer that the conference will further equip the men who attended theologically and that the conference will be an impetus for building healthy churches in Cambodia. Also, pray that the Holy Spirit will be pleased, through the gospel that was proclaimed this evening, to draw the lady blinded by Buddhism to Jesus Christ the Lord.
