Ion and Ani Tomeci serve Providence Church of Brasov, ministering along sde of Brother Sorin Prodan. In his recent report, Ion (Bebe) shares the following experiences from his evangelistic endeavors:

I met many people and listened to their life stories. I looked into their eyes and loved them. Some of them were not touched by my words. I saw that they just couldn’t understand. But I also could see how the Lord opened the hearts of some of them and the Words of the Gospel went deep down. I could see in their eyes that the Gospel was a good food for their souls. My spirit was refreshed and I could feel a deeper love for them.

I met many people with ruined lives. There was an 18-year old girl. I thought she was in high school, but I found out that she barely finished the 8th grade. She had had a relationship with an older man and now she had a daughter that she was raising by herself. I asked her if she was sorry and she said, “Yes”, but after a few moments, she was acting again as a school girl, laughing at other people’s jokes. I saw so much innocence in her. There are many young people making mistakes in their innocence and then they treat their mistakes with innocence and indifference. They are just as the Lord says about the people in Nineveh, they can’t discern between their right hand and their left hand.

I also met a man who told me about his life. He lived with a girl for a while and had a child with her. Then they got separated and now someone else is raising his child. I asked him if he knew when his child was born and he answered that the girl didn’t let him know when she gave birth. I told him it was his duty to know, because it was his child that was born. Then I asked him if he had relationships with other women and he answered affirmatively. I asked him if he cared that his child was being raised by another father and he said ‘no’, with an indifference that frightened me. I was struck by his indifference towards what a man should be. He had such a ruined life that I can’t imagine what could help him out!

The darkness is so deep in some people’s lives that the light hits against it like against a wall. It can find no way in. These people are indifferent and hardened, though the suffering is so evident in their lives. And there are so many people like this man.
