Dear brothers and sisters,
On the November 29 and 30th, we had both our annual Pastor’s conference and gospel meetings. This marks the third anniversary of our church building. Pastor Mark Chanski came to preach and teach for us during these events. On the 29th, pastor Chanski preached on the topic of what is a healthy reformed Baptist church. He stressed that there are five main elements that constitute a healthy reformed Baptist church. They are (A) Its view of Biblical theology (B) Its view of salvation (C) Its view of the Christian life (D) Its view of worship (E) Its view of the Scriptures.
And in the afternoon, he explained the importance and responsibility of the man to take the initiative in the family and church. In this talk, he explained that God subdued the earth when it was formless, null, and void. He worked for six days and rested on the seventh day. God created Adam and Eve and commanded them to subdue the earth. They were to rule the birds of the air, the animals of the land, and the fish of the sea. Right from the beginning, Adam and Eve were expected to work hard to be the custodians of the garden. And because we are made in the image of God, we must subdue all kinds of situations. We too are told to put our bodies to work and pray earnestly. Instead of giving excuses and blaming others, we are told to subdue various situations. He likened it to a game of cricket. We must not be like a cricket ball which is passive, but we must be like an aggressive cricket batsman that hit the ball! He encouraged that we as men, as husbands and pastors must work hard and be responsible.
The next day, he taught us the basic principles of the biblical hermeneutics. He also explained from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation that there is one single theme that runs throughout the Bible. That is the theme of the Glory of God in the redemption of mankind. All in all, Pastor Mark Chanski‘s ministry was a wonderful blessing to each one of us. On the Lord’s day, He spoke on the theme of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of encouraging one another in the context of the local church and family.
During this conference, Pastor Joshua and Dr. Shankar addressed the gatherings in the evenings. Both Joshua and Shankar proclaimed the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is our hope and prayer that through this ministry God may save some.
