HeartCry Missionary George Serban is a pastor/church planter in Stoenesti, Romania. He, his wife, Dana, and their two daughters serve the Stoenesti Church faith family.  Brother Serban has been a faithful and resilent minister of the gospel in a strong Orthodox community. This month he relates the work of his gospel labor:

“The Lord has been with us this month. People have started planting vegtable seeds now that spring has come and so have we. Except our seed never rots as it produces fruit that remains, being that it is gospel seed. Investing in people is the best investment.

We went to different places this month and planted the good seed. We pray that the Lord would save the people that heard the Good News and received a New Testament. Our church organized a social evangelistic event in Craiova where we are in the process of planting a new church. Many people accepted our invitations and attended the event, which took place in a rented restaurant where we had group discussions led by our missionaries. We talked to the people about the value of the soul. People opened their hearts and in the end they said they would like to attend our church meetings in Craiova. We are praying for these people to be saved. Even though we shared it in different forms, we believe that only the Gospel can save. Toward the end, a lady came to me and told me she had really enjoyed our event. She was so happy that she hugged me and said she would join our church. God is good!

The Lord worked in a special way in our church last Sunday. After the sermon, I invited the people to repent and rededicate themselves to the Lord. Several young people came up front and admitted they had gone astray from the Lord. People cried, but they also rejoiced over these young people. Please pray for them as there is so much pressure on them and such a tough fight for their souls. We pray for wisdom that we would know how to help them. We are thankful to the Lord for the grace of having a fresh start each time when we fail in our relationship with Him. Please pray for Florin, Alex, Alexandru, Ana and Sara that they would be faithful with the Lord for the rest of their lives.

The Lord Jesus said that we would always have the poor with us and this is true, especially here in Oltenia. We have helped several poor people this month with food supplies. This is a good opportunity for us to pray for these people and to tell them to look up to God, because our help comes from Him.”
