Dear brothers & sisters,

Thank you for standing with us. This year has been challenging, but very encouraging when it comes to the ministry here in Sweden. One great joy has been the various small groups in the different cities that I’ve been able to work with. I’m currently in the process of training leaders in 5 of the 10 biggest cities in Sweden. During this year we’ve had the joy of encouraging and seeing three bible studies started in three of those cities.

One of them began this summer. While we were in the last months of waiting for our fifth child, I got a phone call from a man who said that he needs help. He had been the youth leader in a prosperity gospel church and discovered that he had not fully understood the gospel. This led him to start questioning the whole theological foundation that he had been building his life and ministry on. His life began to change.

We as a church could not physically meet during the spring, so he joined our online Bible studies. It was so refreshing to see him and his fiancé’s hunger for the Word of God. When the health situation began to lighten up early in the summer, we encouraged everyone in our Bible study group to meet up in groups of two or three outdoors to do one to one Bible reading. We inspired the former youth leader and his fiancée to also meet people to read the Bible with. They started to do that and now they are regularly meeting around ten others to study the Bible. This man’s heart and prayer are that a sound church would be planted in their city. I’m doing all I can to help disciple them from a distance.

Please give thanks for what the Lord has been doing in their lives as well as for the people in the group. Pray that they would all continue to grow in the grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. We ask you also to pray for the non-Christians that have come across their path, that the Lord through the Bible studies would open their hearts for the truth of the gospel.

A crying need throughout Sweden is for mature leaders. Please pray for all of the cities that I’m involved in leadership training, that we would see mature leaders being trained and bearing fruit to the praise of God’s glory. You can also pray for our small church, that we would be able to see many leaders equipped for the task of pastoring and planting churches.
