Malamulo Chindongo and his new wife Rachel recently transitioned back to Malawi proceeding their wedding in South Africa in June. The following is a brief update from his ministry:

Greetings in Christ!

We are always grateful for the wonderful fellowship we have with you in Christ. My wife and I traveled well and are now slowly settling in very well. Our consignment, that we shipped from South Africa, has not yet been cleared with the Malawi Revenue Authority, so it is still in their hands. We are praying and working on getting it through customs duty-free since it is comprised of gifts and my wife’s used items. Pray for us that we only pay what is required.

My wife is making good progress in this new environment. With the Lord’s help, she seems to connect well with the people, and especially the women in the church. I have discontinued all of our university out-reach activities for the next 6 months so we can focus on each other more. My ministry is now focused more around the home and the local assembly.

My transition back into the swing of things has been with a new series of messages from the Letter of James. I am praying and hoping the Lord will awaken our group to a more practical Christianity; it is a group that has learned a lot of doctrine over the years.

Please pray for more of His grace and sustaining power. Even though I have cut down on ministry outside our local church, Rachel and I will still keep busy. We have two brothers and one sister requesting baptism (these had made their desire known before I left for South Africa). They have gone through a period of examination and we believe they are ready for believer’s baptism. We have scheduled it for the 1st of September 2013.

Rachel and I have some work to do, as four young couples have already approached us for premarital counseling. Three of these seem to be looking at weddings between the period of December 2013 and August 2014. They do not all have fixed dates at this point but are looking at this period. We would like to start meeting with these couples beginning on the 30th of August.

Pray for us as we settle and serve Gods people in Blantyre, Malawi.

God bless you,

Pastor Mala
