Soem was raised in a Christian home and was converted at the age of 14. His clear sense of God’s call to ministry led him to attend Bible college and then to go on to earn his Bachelor of Theology. Now he is thankful for labor full-time as a church planter in a township of about 300,000.

Testimony of Conversion

My name is Soem. I was born on October 12, 1995, in a Christian family. As my father was a pastor, I usually went to church since childhood. But I wasn’t born again. I knew the word of God as I attended Sunday school classes. Still, I wasn’t sure of life after death. My life by that time was full of insecurities because I knew I was empty inside. But one morning on Sunday, in April 2009 (I was 14 years old), I went to my usual Sunday school class; God was graciously revealing me His truth through my Sunday school teacher. On that day I was saved. The Bible verses that make me so sure of my salvation are Eph. 2:8 and 1 Cor. 15:3-4. After my new life, the only thing that I would like to do is to serve my Savior Lord Jesus Christ as a full-time missionary. However, I was only 14 years old, and I had to go further for my education. I helped my father in the church such as leading the worship service, Children Sunday school ministry, and other youth activity.

Testimony of Call to Ministry

By God’s grace I completed my high school in 2011, and after that, I decided to go to a Bible College. And God led me to Biblical School of Theology where I could learn more about Him and a maturing life in Christ. During my studies at this school, God gradually molded me to become His useful vessel. After finishing my second year of my Bachelor of Theology, I was convicted to the call of God. From that year on I committed myself to God to prepare me for the ministry.

In February 2016, I finished my Bachelor degree in Bible and since that day on I have been going to a mission field here in Hlaingtharyar township. It is a great privilege for me to be able to involve in such a ministry. God opens the door to me so that now I am ministering His word to around ten people every Sunday. I am looking forward that more people will be saved and come to know the truth that God may be glorified through us. I did not have any financial support from any church or organization; therefore I could not do everyday house visitation. Since Heart Cry will be supporting me, I hope that I will be able to do daily witnessing and the Lord will grow the church.
