Church Planter - North India
Seth was raised in a devout Hindu home and was saved from his idolatrous tradition when he was invited to a church in his home village. After his conversion he studied at a Bible school for three years and then was sent to begin evangelism and church planting in North India.
Testimony of Conversion
I was born in a village in North India, in which my family followed Hinduism. From a very early age I was a religious person, and I used to worship all kinds of idols along with my parents. I also participated in the Hindu worship activities that were carried out in the local temple. However, there was never any peace in my heart.
One day a Christian I had met invited me to go with him to a worship meeting that was held at his church. I decided to go with him, and I enjoyed the service. I really liked the hymns that they sang and the reading of God’s Word. The leaders of the church gave me some literature, which I spent several months reading through. While I was reading the Bible I came across 1 John 1:9, where we read that if we confess our sins before the Lord He is a faithful and just God. After reading this I recognized that I was a sinner who needed to be forgiven, and I was led to trust in Christ alone as my Savior. I knew that all of the religious ceremonies that I had involved myself in before were of no use and they could never give me any peace with God. I repented before the Lord and entrusted myself to the only One who can forgive me. This confidence brought peace to my heart.
I am so thankful to God for saving me and making me His child, and He is now using me in the work of His kingdom for spreading His Word. My burden is to preach the Gospel so that people who are still living in bondage to sin will come to the Lord and experience peace with God in their hearts.
When the Lord was calling me into the ministry, I was sent to a Bible training school where I studied for three years. Upon completion of these studies I moved to the region of North India in which I am now serving as a church planter. I am thankful to God that He gave me an opportunity to serve Him and to bring glory to His name.
