Testimony of Conversion
My name is Rekem K. I have a wife and two sons. Before my conversion, I was a traditional Hindu and worshipped many idols. I was involved in many bad habits like smoking, drinking, and running with bad friends. I was so unsatisfied with my family and frustrated with my life that I wanted to end it. There was no hope left in my life, and every time I wanted to move ahead there was a hurdle in my way.
One day, I met a Christian and he asked me about how I was doing in my life. Although I was completely empty on the inside, I told him that I was doing well. He invited me to come to his village. On August 15, 2005, I went to his village and met him there. He shared the Word of God with me and prayed for me. He explained to me about how God created me in His own image and how much He loved and cared for me.
I was amazed to know all this and at the same time I was very impressed with the dedication and devotion that this Christian man showed toward his work. On September 17, 2005, I heard the Word of the Gospel and I realized that my body was the temple of the living God that I had defiled with my sins. At that moment, I confessed my sins and surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. It was there that I went on my knees and prayed to the Lord for His salvation. One year later, in August 2006, I was baptized. I gained peace in my life and my family saw the positive changes in me. They were happy in the way my life was heading. I started sharing from the Word of God with my family, and in 2007, my wife also believed in Christ and was baptized.
Today, my family is experiencing the peace of God. We have good relations with each other, and with a new hope, we spend time together in prayer and in sharing the Word. We believe that we should help others know the salvation of God and be saved just as we have been saved through Christ.
I have a vision to become a good Gospel preacher so that I can save many souls for God's kingdom and work towards the formation of a healthy church based on strong Biblical teachings. I want to do this for the Glory of God.
