The following report is from one of our partners in the Middle East regarding a recent trip to Kurdistan: After three days of evangelism in Turkey we traveled to another area of Kurdistan to prepare the way for the rest of our team - in all there were nine of us from five different countries. Our main purpose in going was to minister to the displaced refugees of Kurdistan by proclaiming the Gospel and distributing food, bibles, and medical supplies.... Keep Reading

The first few days were spent with Pastor Samuel D. and his family. Samuel recently completed his theology degree in Egypt and was officially ordained in the country of Egypt (his Jordanian Bible degree and ordination were not accepted). Brothers and sisters, Thank you for your prayers for this trip. God has been a very great and present help. The need for wisdom and power from the Spirit is incredible here, so please continue to pray for us and for the Church in the Middle East. During the first two days we had a small conference in the church for the missionaries and church members. The discussion was lively and the people were very hungry to learn more about the Doctrine of God. Many came up to express in broken English how... Keep Reading

Sharif A: Ministry with Refugees

Posted March 3, 2014  by: Marc Glass |0 Comments

A wonderful and distinctive thing which happened this month was that our prayers were answered, and the church is now opened daily. With the presence of the pastor and me helping in the service, we now have a daily morning prayer time in the church to serve the region, to spiritually pursue the new believers, and to respond to anyone who is in need for a help or an advice. This way, we can easily access the church and be with people to pray together. In this month, I had a meeting in the o... Keep Reading

Day 3: "Wives, Honor Your Husbands" in Egypt

Posted January 31, 2014  by: Marc Glass |0 Comments

After the teaching sessions were over yesterday, we had the privilege of taking Samuel, Samira, and their three children out to dinner. Over the last few years, I have grown to appreciate, love, and respect this family more and more as I have grown to know them better. I spoke with Samira, asking her about the teaching from the conference and the ways in which she has benefitted from it. With tear-filled eyes in as good of English as she could find, she expressed to me her gratitude that we've ... Keep Reading

Day 2: "Husbands Love Your Wives" in Egypt

Posted January 30, 2014  by: Marc Glass |0 Comments

As I mentioned yesterday: marriage, family, and gender issues are increasingly confused throughout the world; the confusion is not just a western issue. In cultures like Egypt, where the majority religion is Islam, the proper treatment of women is a major issue. Like many places, many women are verbally and physically abused and often sexually exploited. Sadly, such atrocities are hidden behind a veil of secrecy and many women have no viable option for escaping the abuse that plagues them. In s... Keep Reading

Today we are starting the first family conference that HeartCry has hosted in the Middle East. We have a number of people from various groups throughout Egypt and even a few individuals from other nations within the region. Samuel now has a church that is doing well, as he continues laboring to teach the Script... Keep Reading

An Egyptian Christian on Morsi's Removal

Posted September 13, 2013  by: Marc Glass |0 Comments

Following the removal of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood, many western news sources reported that a military coup d'etat had taken place against the general will of the Egyptian people. The following facts are from a Christian Egyptian seminary professor and his evaluation of the events inside his country. His primary motive in reporting these things is to solicit prayer for the Christians living inside of Egypt.... Keep Reading

Middle East Report: Trophies of Grace

Posted September 6, 2013  by: Marc Glass |0 Comments

As I look back over the last few years of working closely with church planters and evangelists in the Middle East, my mind is continually directed to God’s promises in Scripture which He will bring to pass concerning His people. Some of the things that I have seen and heard will forever be etched in my mind: meeting with small house fellowships where conversion to Christ is illegal ... seeing thriving groups of persecuted Christians ... eating with Christians that look impoverished by Western standards, yet gladly serve you their best. In all of these situations, these Christians’ hearts and lives contain a wealth of joy that is painfully absent in the materialism of the West. They are trophies of grace and demonstrations of God’s enduring help to all who hope in Him and call upon His name.... Keep Reading

Leonid: Gospel Opportunities

Posted May 30, 2013  by: Marc Glass |0 Comments

Leonid has recently written about the excellent opportunity he had to spend time with his family in the United States and to share about the love of Christ. He has written the following: Dear brothers and sisters: Greetings to you from Jerusalem! In April my 90 year old father invited me to visit his home in San Jose, California. I stayed with him for two weeks. We walked together much and met with other relatives. Certainly, for me it was a fine opportunity to tell them about the Christ and... Keep Reading
