Cambodia - Chhinho S.
Chhinho is the pastor of Shalom Church and leader for the Shalom Mission to Cambodia, a church planting ministry intent on reaching the Khmer people.
Dear Donors: I am writing to express my thanks to you for your generous support which has released me to devote myself full-time to the ministry of Shalom Mission Cambodia. Your commitment and generosity is sincerely appreciated. Your support has enabled our ministry to reach many souls throughout the kingdom of Cambodia.
Through our church planting mission efforts, we have been able to bring salvation to many men, women, and children. We have also been blessed to start new churches and associated ministries.
We now have developed a faithful team of thirteen full-time workers and several volunteers, and together we have started thirty-two home churches, one English School, twenty-seven kids’ clubs, and other ministries among the destitute people. We thank God that we have been allowed to touch many needy souls and help them physically as well as spiritually.
Our vision is to have healthy and harvesting Shalom churches in each of the twenty-five provinces of Cambodia. We intend to achieve this by encouraging and preparing all our members to spread the Kingdom of God by being salt and light in their communities. You are directly contributing to this goal that is being reached.
At present, we are seeing many Cambodian people who are open to the Good News of Jesus Christ. Thank you again for enabling us to go further into the harvest to gather them in. I am grateful for our partnership in the gospel and look forward to it continuing.
Nepal - Sarvajit Gurung
Sarvajit graduated from a seminary in North India in 2010 and returned to Nepal in order to work alongside his father. He has a great desire to see Nepalese believers grow in their understanding of the Scriptures. Pray for him as he serves the church in Nepal.
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are very thankful to the Lord for the great opportunity to partner with the HeartCry Missionary Society in sharing the gospel in Nepal. The gospel is being preached in this needy land and many lost souls are being saved. The Lord is enabling us to establish biblical churches in this part of the word.
First, we are very much thankful to the Lord and to the HeartCry Missionary Society for helping us through sound biblical teaching. It is our great privilege to receive leadership training from HeartCry, which has been very helpful to our ministry. We are very hungry for the deeper truths of the gospel. God has blessed us to partner with HeartCry in His time and we are being blessed by the sound teaching, and our local churches are growing biblically and His kingdom is advancing.
Second, we are very thankful to the donors who support us through HeartCry. We had a great burden and zeal to serve the Lord, but we were facing hard times to meet the basic needs for our families before we partnered with HeartCry. The support has helped us a lot in our family and ministry.
Third, we desire to share our gratitude to you for your constant prayers for the missionaries, their spouses, and the ministry of Nepal. May the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ shine brightly in this country! Many people groups are still unreached because there is no witness of the gospel among them. We need your constant prayers and support for the advancement of His kingdom. Let our Almighty God be glorified through His words and deeds through you and me.
China - Brother Gaius
Gaius is married and has one child. He grew up in a Christian family and was converted as a youth while attending a summer camp. He is now working to establish a healthy church in a large urban area of China.
Brothers and Sisters of Heart Cry, greetings: Today is China’s Mid-Autumn festival. This day traditionally stands for the completeness and harmony of the family. So on this day, my family, my whole church, and I send our thanks. With your support this past year, my family and ministry have been greatly blessed. I thank God that I can have this kind of partnership with you. That I can better serve in God’s kingdom.
I was raised in a countryside home. After college graduation, I was called by God to full time ministry. After serving for five years, I went to study theology. Upon graduation, and because of theological issues, I left my former church group to plant a new church. Because of this, I had no income. I relied on the salary from my wife’s work to continue ministering in the city. Then, by God’s grace we were put in connection with you, and since last June we have been enjoying your support. Because of your help, the financial burden of our home has been greatly decreased. This enabled me to better fulfill my role as a husband and father and also for my wife to spend less time at work and more time taking care of our home and son. Also, because of your support, my family has been able to move closer to the church. This has spared us a lot of time and energy and enabled my work to have a better impact.
With your support we have been able to open our home more to the brothers and sisters of the church. We invite people over about twice a week to eat at our house. On one hand this helps us to get to know them better, and it also provides us with an opportunity to give them personal instruction and help them in knowing God better. They also get to see us serving them and learn how to serve others in the church.
Our church has also enjoyed much blessing with your support. I have been able to fully give myself to service, which has blessed the church. When we first met as a group there were just two families and one seeker. But now there are around thirty people meeting on a Lord’s Day, seventeen of which are members. There are now five families, five single sisters, and two single brothers. Because we live close to the church a lot of ministry has expanded quickly which has led to the increase in our attendance. On Thursday, we have a small group study, on Fridays, we have a prayer meeting, and on national holidays we have special studies. This strengthens the faith of the brothers and sisters. Also, because we are constantly together, our relationships are growing sweeter, which is attracting unbelievers and other believers who do not have a church. This has led to several brethren applying for membership after just a few months with us.
With your support, I have less cares for my family and so I have been able to spend more time and energy in the church. This year, I have invested a lot into counseling and discipleship, and there are now four co-workers in the church. Several brothers have been eager to help with ministry. Their families have also been very willing to show hospitality and fellowship with others.
This grace given us has all been of God, and He has used your hands to give it. My family and I will continue to serve diligently in the grace of God and for the glory of His name. May God remember your generosity!
