Earlier this year Lucas A. became the first HeartCry-supported missionary in the Greater Middle East region (Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Afghanistan) after he was forced to leave his home country and ministry behind in 2015. He currently trains pastors and church leaders who still live there. His ministry consists of translating biblical resources into his native tongue, corresponding regularly with church leaders, and organizing training conferences for pastors. He and his w... Amal's Story

Amal is a woman living in the Middle East. This is her testimony as recorded by Dr. Andrew. My story started thirty-eight years ago. My mother died six months after I was born, and from then on I was raised by my father. When I turned five years old, my father started working long days without any time off, and so I spent my days with the neighbors until my father came home. My neighbors happened to be Christians, so at their house I would often hear verses and stories from the Bible or Christi... Keep Reading

Arabic Audio Bibles for Iraq

Posted June 3, 2015  by: Josh C. |0 Comments

Thanks to you who support the ministry of HeartCry, we were able to purchase two hundred solar-powered audio Bibles to be carried into Iraq. These Bibles are being sent to a relief team of Americans and Middle Easterners who are currently in northern Iraq conducting medical work; distributing food, blankets, and heaters; and sharing the Gospel through preaching and Bible distribution. Many refugees have already received Arabic New Testaments, but others are illiterate and in need of these audio ... Keep Reading

An update from Abu Munahid, pastor of Salam Church in an undisclosed country in the Middle East. Introducing a New Family to Christ This month I visited a new family and introduced Jesus’ message to them. The entire family – the father and mother, together with their two adult children and their spouses – also prayed with me. The mother said that she could not believe in the doctrine of the Trinity, and the deity of Jesus did not make sense to her. But the Lord is good; He al... Keep Reading

Dr. Andrew is a gifted apologist to Muslims and began his evangelistic work among nomadic Arabs several years ago in the Middle East. After finishing his university studies, Dr. Andrew set up a veterinary clinic in a small village to treat sheep and camels. Dr. Andrew is now leading a team of evangelists who are working among difficult-to-reach Muslims. “Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” – II Timothy 3:12 We often read these verses in the Bible, an... This article is based on information gathered from a HeartCry affiliated observer of the underground church in the Arabian Peninsula. A Christianity in the Arabian Peninsula From various places in the Scriptures, we learn that Christianity had a strong beginning in the Middle East. In fact, it wasn’t until the mid-seventh century that Islam began to become the dominant religion of the region. But because Islam was founded in an intensely tribal culture, it spread rapidly and sank deeply ... Keep Reading

Family conference in Cairo, Egypt

I am very encouraged by the work that the Lord is doing through our brothers and sisters in the Middle East. Though the region has hosted numerous conflicts and clashes throughout the last year, there still remain real, tangible proofs of the grace of God working through His church. In fact, one could make the argument that the unrest itself has been used of the Lord to awaken many to the unrest that exists within their own souls. One of our partners in a protected area of the Middle East report... Keep Reading

Middle East: Coordinator's Report

Posted August 16, 2013  by: Marc Glass |0 Comments

While it is true that the persecuted church is blessed by God in innumerable ways, a Christian-friendly government can also help to facilitate the growth of the church. Therefore, we must pray for the many countries in the Middle East where the governments either permit or promote the persecution of Christians. With all the political turmoil that has happened in the region over the past year and a half, there remain many “unknowns” about the future. Egypt has just elected a president... Keep Reading

He and his wife Ella immigrated to Israel from Ukraine in 1995, and they immediately began working in evangelism among their fellow Jews. The “Light of Life” began in 1997 as a small Bible st... Missionary Report: Antony S.

The Adventure Begins I left early one morning, hoping to get a good start, but managing to miss my bus anyway. If I’ve learned one thing during my two decades of missionary work, it is that God’s plans are always better than mine. I knew He had something very special in store for me. My plan was to travel to Jordan to share the Gospel with the many Muslims who had been pouring over the border from Syria as refugees from the deadly violence that has been ongoing there since March of... Middle East Coordinator's Report: Trophies of Grace

Posted August 9, 2013  by: Marc Glass |0 Comments

As I look back over the last few years of working closely with church planters and evangelists in the Middle East, my mind is continually directed to God’s promises in Scripture which He will bring to pass concerning His people. Some of the things that I have seen and heard will forever be etched in my mind: meeting with small house fellowships where conversion to Christ is illegal ... seeing thriving groups of persecuted Christians ... eating with Christians that look impoverished by West...
