Praise the Lord for this New Year! I wish you to keep serving the Lord with passion!
In the first month of this year, I took more time for evaluation, planning and spiritual growth. So, in the second week of the month, I attended a one-week conference on Hebrews and a course on worship. I also served as a translator. We studied about Christ’s supremacy, true worship and worship through music in church. These two events took place in our church and they were attended by pastors and preachers from our area. This was a good opportunity for us to start the new year in the Word and in worship.
I also took time to evaluate myself and my involvement in God’s ministry, and also to evaluate the youth ministry and the mission work. I still need some time to decide upon the vision for this year and I pray that the Lord would guide me and show me where I can join Him in ministry.
Besides my personal study and evaluation time, I was involved in a social project, helping poor people with firewood. Young people from our church helped me in this project. One of the people that received firewood was Maria from Anenii Noi. We met her in our first year of marriage, when we lived in a rented apartment. She used to live with a man after her husband’s death. After we moved from that apartment, we found out that that man had a car accident and died. Maria is living with her 18-year old son, Andrei, who has a severe handicap. He can’t communicate and he can barely walk. Maria can’t have a job, as she needs to take care of her son. She gets some work to do every now and then. Our help was a great blessing for them. Maria and Andrei have started attending the church and we pray that the Lord would work in their hearts and they would receive Him as Lord and Savior. Through this project, we were able to show God’s love and provision in a very practical way.
I also visited a young family that has recently moved to Hirbovatul Nou, along with two guests from the USA. They rented a small old house in this village and we helped them with firewood. I talked to the man, Pavel, and he told me he grew up in an orphanage, where he got in touch with missionaries from Mission without Borders. So he knows some things about God and the Gospel, but he has never repented. I was glad to see that God keeps working in the lives of those who heard the Gospel in their childhood. I will visit this family again and I will talk to them about the Gospel, with faith that the Lord will work in their hearts.
We will start again the youth meeting in February. Until then, I took some time to pray, to study, to listen to different audio materials, in order to make this ministry more efficient. I not only want to give them information, but I want to touch their heart with God’s truth. I would also like to start a discipleship process with the boys, so that I could get more involved in their lives and show them a different way of thinking.
