Moise Marian pastors O Del Si Amenca Church in Bucharest, Romania. In additional to his shepherding responsibilities he also provides oversight for other HeartCry Gypsy missionaries in the country. In recent years, Brother Marian has encountered major health issues, and although very sick at times, he presses on in his ministry. He relates some of his ministry experiences this month:
We had an evangelistic medical project in the village of Fratesti in October. 54 people attended this project. They received medical assistance, including free medicines and glasses. The medical project was a good evangelistic opportunity. Before consultation, we did spiritual counseling with each participant, which was actually personal evangelism. We gave New Testaments to everyone and prayed for them to receive the Lord as their personal Lord and Savior. We had young people and adults who participated in these projects who have also started coming to our worship services.
During the medical project, I talked to a man from Fratesti. He was upset because his wife had left him. He was now raising their two children by himself and confessed that he was thinking about killing himself. I tried to make him think about God. We prayed together and I ask the Lord to give him peace in his heart. After a week, I met him again and he was merrier and more self-confident. I could see a change in him and I invited him to church. He promised he would come, but he hasn't so far. I plan on meeting with him again.
When we had the evangelistic event in the tent we set up, a man came who was so upset because his daughter had died of cancer 6 months before. His wife had also died of cancer 2 years prior to that. He told me that just three weeks before he had also been diagnosed with cancer. I tried to encourage him slthough it was hard to find the appropriate words. I tried to show him Jesus. I also shared my testimony with him as I have also been diagnosed with cancer three years ago. By God’s grace, I am still alive. I hope to meet with him again and share with him the medical treatment that I am taking. We prayed together at the end of our conversation. I have continued to pray for him that the Lord would strengthen him both emotionally and in his faith.
