David Vale, the son of Marian Vale, has assumed the ministry of his father, who recently graduated to glory. While the transition has been very difficult for David, he presses on in the stewardship of his father's ministry. He says, "I have faced difficulties and suffering, as I have lost my father this month. It was very difficult for me to maintain a high level in prayer and Bible study. There were many problems to be solved, but I want to be more dedicated."
In this months report David shares the challenges of his transition:
"I had to take care of my mother and my sister this month. Losing my father, affected all of us emotionally very much. I had to comfort my family. I also had to see to Holy Trinity Church in Fundeni and Emmanuel Church in Pantelimon. I will try to maintain balance between ministry, family and rest.
After my father’s death, by God’s grace, I managed to attend the church services in Pantelimon to worship the Lord with the believers. They maintain a good testimony and attend the church. Sister Gabi has attended the church for several months. She says she would like to follow the Lord, but not just yet. She attends the church services and we pray that the Lord would change her heart.
I made evangelistic visits in Pantelimon. I spoke to a lady (about 40 years old), whose son had undergone about 20 leg surgeries. I shared the Gospel with her, seeing that she was interested and open. She came to church with her son and listened to God’s Word. We pray that the Lord would search her and her family hearts. On Easter Day, I visited the neighbors of the church. I met three families in a house. I spent about 30-40 minutes with them, talking about the real meaning of Easter and the Gospel. They were open and thanked me for visiting them. They invited me to visit them again. In the end we prayed together. We pray that God would change the hearts of these people and bring them to church.
I have faced a difficult trial this month. On March 29th, at 1 a.m., my father (55 years old) suffered a heart attack and passed away. I was not at home then as I was at the campus. When I heard the terrible news, it was really hard for me. My mother and sister were really touched and I could hardly handle it. I believe that only God’s grace and the believers’ prayers helped me in those difficult moments. On Friday, March 29th, my father’s lifeless body was brought home. It was very painful to see him dead, lifeless, in a coffin – the one who gave me life, who raised me for 20 years and who was a mentor for me. We had three nights of viewing, attended by professors, pastors, colleagues, friends and relatives. On the fourth day, we had the funeral. The days following my father’s funeral were really hard for my mother and sister. They are more sensitive and have much need of support in prayer. May the Lord help us go through this trial!
Please pray for our family, my mother, Dorina, and my sister, Rebeca. May the Lord strengthen them now when we miss our father so much. Also, pray for me that the Lord would help me study. I am a 2nd year student at two colleges. And also pray for my sister, Rebeca, and me, that we would be able to carry on the children’s and teenagers’ ministries."
