HeartCry Missionary Dana L. continues to avail herself to different venues to share Christ with students. Recently, she had a times of effective witness in the Canteen and Pregnacy Center. She reports;
The best discussions I had were in the student canteen with a girl who listened so attentively that I kept sharing the Gospel for half of an hour. When I finished, she wanted to hear more. It was an amazing interaction! Another guy said he wasn't interested in religion and I told him, "me neither." And then I pointed him to Christ and he was interested to talk more and became more and more interested. Another girl thought that good deeds and faith lead to salvation, then quickly, she got the message that deeds follow true faith and salvation. It was really wonderful, especially that just before these three discussions in a raw, I had thoughts like ... I don't know what to say to people, I cannot connect with them...
The Bible study at the pregnancy center has been encouraging lately. I think one of the moms is born again. Although she has some mental slowness and issues, I can still see she is making progress in understanding the Scriptures and growing in character. It’s so good to see that the Holy Spirit is working in her and changing her in spite of her limitations. She's reading the Scripture daily and goes to Church. Last Bible study was the Christmas passages and her sister and a friend were present. They stayed for the reading of the Scripture and during the discussion we explored the reason why Jesus came.
Another mom has had some issues with her pregnancy and gave birth prematurely. She and the baby are doing well. She has been in the hospital for a while. Although Pentecostal, she has nothing to do with repentance and God, and so far she doesn't seem open to the Gospel.
The most recent mom who came to the center is very encouraging to me. She’s Orthodox, however she’s very religious. At some point she said she believes in reincarnation and says she decides based on her feelings. We had a long discussion about the importance of the mind, that feelings should follow the mind, and in conclusion the importance of the Bible in shaping and guiding our minds. She was really challenged to read the New Testament even though she thinks reading the Bible will not change her. This girl has a colleague who was radically changed by the Bible. I'm so glad she already had some input and influence in her life as this seems to make her more open to the Gospel.
