Church Planter - North India
Throughout his childhood Chandan was a follower of Hindu tradition. He was converted after hearing the Gospel from a pastor in his village. He then studied at a Bible college in North India, where he now serves as a church planter.
Testimony of Conversion
My name is Chandan, and I was born in North India in a Hindu family. Being from North India and having Hindu parents, I worshiped idols and did not know Christ, but I always knew that my life was full of darkness. One day I met a pastor in my village. He shared with me about God and invited me to a prayer meeting. When I went to the prayer meeting I found that I really enjoyed it, because I believed that what was being discussed was God’s Word.
These meetings created in me a great interest for the things the brothers and sisters of the church believed, and I began to attend the prayer meetings on a regular basis. Also, I began to read the New Testament on my own, which caused my faith in Christ to grow. In the midst of these prayer meetings and through the time that I spent studying the Bible, the Lord showed me that I was a sinner and needed to repent before Him. I confessed my sins and believed in Him as the only Savior and Lord.
After my conversion, someone told me about a Bible college where I could go to learn more about God’s Word. Ever since I was first introduced to the Bible I had a desire to read and study it, and now I wanted to be able to grow more deeply in my understanding of God’s Word. I decided to go to this Bible college, where I studied for about one year. While I was studying at this school and once I had finished I grew in the maturity of my faith and I began to share the Gospel with many people. This desire and the gifts that I have been given led me to devote myself full time to the ministry of the Word. I continue to share the Gospel with people who do not yet know Him in my region of North India. I am so thankful to God our Father for using me to bring more sheep into His fold. May His Name be glorified.
