Africa Coordinator News: Transitioning Out

Posted August 3, 2015  by: Forrest Hite |0 Comments

Warm greetings in the Beloved. I just wanted to give you all a bit of an update about what's happening here in-office lately. It has been my privilege the past 15 months or so to be able to serve as a Coordinator for Africa, maintaining contact with the men in the field and posting their reports on the blog. This opportunity has been a truly blessed one, and I would not trade it for anything. My trip to Zambia and Ethiopia just over a year ago was of great value to me. I got to see the vision ... There are times when mission work seems difficult, particularly to those of us who are on the ground. There is often a feeling of doubt, as if perhaps we did not hear God’s call properly. Our desire is to see results as soon as possible after taking up the challenge. This has been my expectation and I believe an expectation from all of us at Mount Makulu Baptist Church (MMBC) in Chilanga, Zambia. Chimasulo Baptist Church (CBC) is MMBC’s first-ever mission work. This explains our... Keep Reading

Dear Friends, We greet you in the name of Jesus Christ, who died so that we may live for Him. We always remember you in our prayers, so that our fellowship may continue for the glory of God. May His kingdom continue expanding through your prayer and generosity as we wait for His second coming! We missionaries cannot thank you enough for this support, but He who knows us all will reward you. Do pray for our nation; the recent Garissa attack (media news story) has left Kenya in a mourning mood. ... Keep Reading

Africa Points for Prayer: May/June

1. Please pray for Pastor Malamulo Chindongo in Malawi. The church he pastors in Blantyre, Antioch Baptist Church, has recently seen significant growth (praise the Lord!), and this has highlighted their need for more elders, as Mala is currently the only one. Please ask the Lord to raise up godly men within their church body who are capable (by God's grace) to help lead and nurture the flock there. In the meantime, pray that the Lord would supply Mala and his family (wife Rachel and baby daughte... Keep Reading

Greetings to you in the precious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. With a heart full of gratitude to the Lord, I would like to update you on the workings of God in the life of the church here in Chambishi. Church History It is humbling and encouraging to realize that Chambishi Central Baptist Church is now more than one year old. Our outreach efforts began around this time last year. I must confess that it was not an easy process, because most of the church members from the sending church had dou... Keep Reading

Warm greetings in the Beloved, my dear brothers and sisters. Once again, it is my privilege to be able to share with you a few specific prayer needs from some of the pastors laboring across the vast continent of Africa. 1. Pastor Malamulo Chindongo in Malawi asks for prayer for himself as Antioch Baptist Church grows, that he would be faithful to his flock in preaching, discipling, and shepherding. Mala also asks for prayer for the congregation he is pastoring, as they have begun to be more int... Keep Reading

Greetings, my brothers and sisters in Christ! Beginning this month, I am intending to write a blog post every month (in addition to normal updates) devoted solely to a few points of prayer that relate directly to our HeartCry partners in Africa. My hope is that these points will help you to know better how you can pray specifically for the needs on the field as they arise. We are truly grateful for the prayers that are offered daily by you who follow these blogs and the other available resources... Keep Reading
